Women's Water Polo Team Goes 3-0 at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's water polo team won its third straight game at the Bucknell Invitational, being held in the Freas Rooke Pool on Saturday and Sunday, February 24-25. The Bison picked up an 18-9 victory over Salem International in its final game of the evening. Senior Paige Cull (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn) led the way for the Orange and Blue, scoring five goals, including three in a decisive third quarter. Cull also grabbed a team-high four steals in the contest. Senior Julie McLaughlin (Woodside, Calif./Menlo) and junior Brooke Rea (Canandaigua, N.Y./Los Altos) each scored three goals in the game, while McLaughlin added two assists and one steal to her game statistics. Sophomore Lindsay Chesterfield (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) was solid in goal for Bucknell, recording 15 saves while allowing only nine goals. The Bison improve to 5-1 overall and are in action again on March 3-4 at their first set of league games at Salem International.
