Women's Water Polo Falls in Sudden Death Overtime to Villanova, 12-11

SALEM, W.Va. - The Bucknell women's water polo team dropped a disappointing 12-11 sudden death overtime game to Villanova in its first game of the day at the first set of College Water Polo Association league games for the 2001 season, held at Salem International on Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4.

The Bison got three goals each from senior co-captain Paige Cull (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn) and junior Brooke Rea (Canandaigua, N.Y./Los Altos), and two goals a piece from senior co-captain Julie McLaughlin (Woodside, Calif./Menlo) and freshman Kelly Hofstetter (Scotts Valley, Calif./Harbor), but it wasn't enough as the Orange and Blue fell to the Wildcats.

It is the second meeting for the two teams this season. Bucknell claimed the first contest, 17-15.

The Bison fall to 5-2 overall and face Salem International at 2:00 p.m.
