Women's Water Polo Team Picks Up Win In California

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The Bucknell women's water polo team got its West Coast swing started with a 10-6 victory over Cal Tech on Saturday, March 10, at the Coyote Classic in California.

The Bison got two goals each from junior Brooke Rea (Canandaigua, N.Y./Los Altos) and Adrienne Schober (Houston, Texas/Clearlake), sophomore Katy Stahler (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) and freshman Kelly Hofstetter (Scott Valley, Calif./Harbor) in the victory. Also scoring were seniors Paige Cull (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn) and Julie McLaughlin (Woodside, Calif./Menlo).

McLaughlin also got it done on defense for the Orange and Blue, recording four ejections drawn and one steal. Sophomore Lindsay Chesterfield (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) had a solid game in goal, stopping seven shots and grabbing four steals.

Bucknell improves to 7-4 on the season and takes on UC-San Bernardino at 4:30 p.m., Pacific Time.
