PRINCETON, N.J. - Meagan Gins (Albuquerque, N.M./Valley) scored a season high-tying five goals, dished out two assists and drew a career-high seven ejections, but the Bucknell women's water polo team could not pull off an upset of No. 18 Princeton as the Tigers scored at least three goals in every quarter to defeat the Bison 15-12 Friday night at DeNunzio Pool.

The two teams were tied at 3-3 following the first quarter, but Princeton poured in nine goals over the next two periods to take a 12-9 advantage into the final stanza. Bucknell fell to 8-8 on the season and 0-1 in Southern Division play as the game marked the beginning of conference play.

Gins increased her team-leading goal total to 39 as she moved into fourth place on the Bison career goals list with 157. She also tied Valentina Rozas (Pico Rivera, Calif./El Rancho) for second on the team with 11 assists, while her seven points Friday were a season high.

Elizabeth Jensen (San Mateo, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) and Aubrey Rowe (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) tallied three and two goals, respectively, to join Gins with multiple goals. Mallory Sullivan (Tulare, Calif./Tulare Western) posted one goal and one assist.

Mandy Bynum (San Jose, Calif./Leland) made six saves in goal for Bucknell and also posted one assist and one steal. The Bison totaled eight steals as a team with Jensen leading the way with three.

Bucknell wraps up its weekend of play Saturday with another league game against Maryland. The contest will take place in Princeton, N.J. The Bison are 2-0 against the Terrapins this season.
