Women's Water Polo Team Defeats Laverne, 9-8

LaVERNE, Calif. - The Buckell women's water polo team continued its success on its West Coast trip, defeating LaVerne, 9-8, on Tuesday, March 13.

The Bison got four goals from senior co-captain Julie McLaughlin (Woodside, Calif./Menlo) and two scores from freshman Kelly Hofstetter (Scotts Valley, Calif./Harbor) in the win. Hofstetter also added two assists and two steals in the contest.

Defensively for the Orange and Blue, sophomore Katy Stahler (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) recorded six steals and sophomore goalkeeper Lindsay Chesterfield (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) made eight saves.

Bucknell improves to 10-5 overall and will face California Baptist, the 20th-ranked team in the nation, at 7:00 p.m., Pacific Time.
