RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Bucknell women's water polo team picked up its first win of its West Coast trip, winning 8-4 over Chapman on Saturday, March 15. The Bison are competing in the Lancer Invitational, hosted by Cal Baptist.

BU used a six-goal first half to carry a 6-2 lead into the intermission. The Orange and Blue were held scoreless in the third, but only allowed Chapman to score once to hold onto the lead. Bucknell then added two insurance goals in the fourth for the 8-4 victory.

Sophomore Meg Blitzer was the offensive spark for the Bison, scoring three goals and adding two assists. Junior Kelly Hofstetter was also a multiple goal scorer, adding two goals to the winning effort.

Senior Lindsay Chesterfield was a force in goal, stopping 12 shots while allowing only four goals.

Bucknell improves to 5-7 overall. The Orange and Blue face 20th-ranked Northridge at 7:45 p.m.
