RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Senior Lindsay Chesterfield made a season-high 14 saves against 20th-ranked Cal State Northridge, but the Bucknell women's water polo squad dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 game to the Matadors in the final game of the Lancer Invitational. The Bison went 1-3 at the event, hosted by Cal Baptist on Saturday-Sunday, March 14-15.

With the score tied 1-1 after one quarter, Northridge used a 2-0 second quarter to hold a 3-1 lead at halftime. The Orange and Blue got within one after three, 3-2, and tied the contest again midway through the fourth quarter. The Matadors' Chari Christopher broke the tie with the game-winning-goal with 1:15 to play.

Sophomores Katie Hartigan and Eileen Ketterer, and junior Kelly Hofstetter each scored for Bucknell. Sophomore Cody Keffer added two assists in the defensive battle.

The Bison fall to 5-8 on the year. Bucknell is in action next on Friday, March 21, when it hosts Michigan State in the first game of the Bucknell Invitational. The contest, which will be the first-ever women's water polo game played in the new Arthur D. Kinney Jr. Natatorium, will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on WMLP-1380 AM by Doug Birdsong, the Voice of the Bison. Pre-game will begin 15 minutes prior to the opening sprint.
