CLAREMONT, Calif. -- Meg Blitzer scored four goals and Bucknell used a big first half to pull away from LaVerne 8-5 Saturday evening at the Claremont Convergence. The Bison rebounded from a tough 11-10 overtime loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earlier in the day and improved to 8-10 on the season.

Jessica Trimis scored twice and Kelly Hofstetter and Katie Hartigan tallied once each for the Bison, who scored three times in each of the first two periods to sprint to a commanding 6-2 halftime lead.

Defensively, Hofstetter, Elizabeth Jensen and Cody Keffer recorded a pair of steals and freshman goalie Mandy Bynum tallied seven saves and two steals while throwing in an assist for good measure.
