Women's Water Polo Splits a Pair of Games in League Competition

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's water polo team split a pair of games on Saturday, March 24, hosting the College Water Polo Association Southern Division League Games. The Bison fell 11-8 to George Washington in the opener, before picking up a 12-8 victory over Salem International in the final game of the evening.

Freshman Kelly Hofstetter (Scotts Valley, Calif./Harbor) led the Bison attack in the loss to George Washington, scoring five goals, while also grabbing two steals.

Against Salem International, Hofstetter turned up the offense again, scoring five goals and handing out one assist. On the defensive side, senior co-captain Paige Cull (Bay City, Mich./John Glenn) had five steals to go with her two goals and one assist.

Bucknell improves to 12-9 overall and 2-4 in league play. The Bison face Villanova at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 25.
