Bison Women's Water Polo Earns 12-1 Win Over Salem International

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Nine different Bucknell water polo players scored as the Bison rolled to a 12-1 win over Salem International on Saturday, March 29. The squad faced Salem International at the Southern Division League Games, being held at Villanova. Bucknell jumped out to a 7-1 lead at halftime and never looked back, shutting out the opponent in three quarters. Sophomore Ashley Aiken was the offensive leader, scoring three times, while also collecting two steals. Also scoring multiple times was freshman Kaitlin Bardoe with two goals in the win. Senior Jamie Fulop led the defensive charges with five steals, followed closely by classmate Katie Stahler. Senior Lindsay Chesterfield played the first half in goal, making one save while allowing Salem International's only goal. Freshman Meg Fulop was solid in the second half, stopping four shots and allowing no goals. Bucknell evens its record at 9-9 and improves to 4-2 in league play. The Bison face #13 Princeton at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 30.
