Women's Polo Team Extends Win-Streak to Three Games

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Bucknell women's water polo team extended its win streak to three games, picking up an 8-7 victory over Slippery Rock in its final game at the Grove City Invitational, being held on Friday and Saturday, March 30-31. The Bison went 3-1 on the weekend with a 9-6 loss to Iona, and convincing wins over Penn State-Behrend (12-1) and Washington & Jefferson (14-3). The Orange and Blue spread the scoring effort around as seven different players notched at least one goal. Sophomore Katy Stahler (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel) led the way with two goals in the win. On the defensive end, junior Brooke Rea (Canandaigua, N.Y./Los Altos) led the team with five steals and three ejections drawn. Sophomore Lindsay Chesterfield (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) was solid in the cage for BU, recording 11 saves in the winning effort. Bucknell improves its overall record to 15-12. The Bison will be back in Grove City next weekend for the Southern Division Championships on Friday and Saturday, April 6-7.
