PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bucknell women's water polo team's weekend came to a close with a 5-4 loss at the hands of Iona on Sunday, April 6. The Bison went 0-3 on the weekend to finish sixth at the ECAC Championsip, being held at Princeton.

Four different players scored for the Orange and Blue in a defensive battle until the end. Iona jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first quarter. Bucknell responded with a 2-1 second quarter to trail just 4-3 at halftime. Iona extended the advantage to 5-3 with one goal in the third, and the Bison defense shot out the Gaels in the fourth, but could only manage one score for the one-goal loss.

Scoring for BU was senior Katie Stahler, junior Kelly Hofstetter, and sophomores Meg Blitzer and Larissa Brown. Stahler and sophomore Ashley Aiken also had assists in the contest.

Senior Lindsay Chesterfield had a solid defensive game, making 10 saves while also grabbing two steals.

In addition to her two points, Stahler also drew a team-high five ejections.

Bucknell is 10-13 overall. The Bison are in action next when they host the Southern Division Championship, April 11-13.
