Bucknell Women's Water Polo Drops 11-5 Decision to Nationally Ranked Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bucknell women's water polo team fell 11-5 to 15th-ranked Princeton in the first round of the Eastern Championship tournament, held at Princeton on Friday-Sunday, April 26-28. The Bison earned their spot in the championship via a fifth-place finish at the Southern Division Championship last weekend.

The Orange and Blue got two goals from senior Brooke Rea, while sophomore Kelly Hofstetter, and freshmen Cody Keffer and Eileen Ketterer added one each. Hofstetter and Keffer joined Rea for the team-lead in points with one assist each to go with their goals. Seniors Adrienne Schober and Meredith Stevens rounded out the Bucknell scoring with one assist each.

Junior Lindsay Chesterfield stopped 11 Princeton shots in goal for BU.

Bucknell falls to 13-17 overall and will face Harvard in the second round of competition at 3:30 p.m.

Goals: Rea 2, Hofstetter, Keffer, Ketterer.
Assists: Hofstetter, Keffer, Schober, Stevens.
Steals: Brown, Stevens.
Ejections Drawn: Rea.
Saves: Chesterfield (11 SV, 11GA).
