BOSTON, Mass. - Sophomore Meg Blitzer scored five times, but it was not enough as the Bison women's water polo team fell to #16 Hartwick, 10-7, at the Eastern Championship on Saturday, April 26. The loss puts Bucknell in the seventh place game on Sunday.

Hartwick jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one quarter, but BU came charging back with a 4-1 second quarter to take a 4-3 lead at the intermission. The Orange and Blue defense struggled in the third quarter, giving up five goals to Hartwick, while the offense failed to score on the way to an 8-4 deficit entering the final quarter.

The Bison outscored Hartwick 3-2 in the fourth, but it was too little, too late.

In addition to Blitzer's five goals, Bucknell got one each from senior Katie Stahler and sophomore Cody Keffer.

The Orange and Blue, 14-16, will face George Washington in the seventh place game at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, April 27.
