LEWISBURG, Pa. - Over the weekend Meagan Gins (Albuquerque, N.M./Valley) and Elizabeth Jensen (San Mateo, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) helped lead the Bucknell women's water polo team to a fourth-place finish at the Eastern Championship, its best-ever showing, and were named to the Eastern Championship All-Tournament Team for their performance. Gins landed on the first team, while Jensen earned second-team plaudits. Both were honored for the first time in their careers.

Gins tallied four goals and four assists in the three games the Bison played, all against ranked opponents. She also drew 13 ejections, including a career-high six during a thrilling 6-5 overtime win against No. 18 Indiana. The sophomore entered the tournament tied with Meg Blitzer for the Bucknell single-season record for goals with 66 and increased that total to 70. Her record-breaking goal was the eventual game-winner against the Hoosiers. Gins finished the season with 103 points as she became the first Bison to ever eclipse the century mark.

Elizabeth Jensen was named to the Eastern Championship All-Tournament Second Team.

Jensen registered three goals, six assists and three steals over the weekend as Bucknell was one of just four teams to have multiple players honored. With a pair of three-assist games, Jensen increased her season total to 46 and surpassed Julie McLaughlin for second place on the Bison single-season list. The junior also moved ahead of Cody Keffer for second place on the career list. Jensen is just two assists shy of 100 for her career. She wrapped up the season with 46 goals and 46 assists for 92 points to rank tied for third on Bucknell's single-season ledger.

Champion Hartwick, which earned the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, placed a league-best four players on the All-Tournament Team. Second-place Michigan and third-place Princeton each had three players honored. Hartwick's Bronwen Knox was the MVP, while the Hawks' head coach, Alan Huckins, was named Coach of the Year.

Bucknell, which was 1-2 over the weekend, finished the season with a 23-9 record to equal the 2005 squad for the most wins in program history.
