NEWARK, Del. --- The Bucknell University men's and women's
cross country "B Teams" competed at the Delaware Invitational
at White Clay Creek State Park today. Both the men's and the women's
teams finished in second place behind the host Blue Hens of Delaware.
Jim Stack (Damascus, Md./Damascus) finished in third place to
lead the Bison in the men's race with a time of 26:49. Sophomore
Eric Furst (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen Central), freshman Marcus Jones
(Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal) and senior Dan Hosey (Lindenhurst,
N.Y./Lindenhurst) finished seventh (27:20), eighth (27:26) and
tenth (27:30), respectively, as Bucknell placed four runners among
the Top-10.
Freshman Jessica Brooks (Williston Park, N.Y./Wheatley School)
paced the women's squad with a sixth-place showing in 24:46. Classmate
Holly Potts (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) was seventh in 24:49, followed
by Michelle Baylor (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) in eighth (24:59)
and Stephanie Keller (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) in ninth (25:11).
The Bucknell men's and women's cross country teams will be back
in action on Saturday, October 28, when they travel to Lehigh
to defend their Patriot League crowns at the league championship
meet.
